GAIAC applied for a Grundtvig workshop – “Shake
a Song”,
that will happen from 2 to 8 September 2011, in Guimarães, a very
beautifull town 50 km from Porto that will be European capital of culture
next year.
It will follow S.ong João seminar (June 2010) with small changes.
If it’s approved, we must open in EU database and everyone can
apply. We wrote in the application that Drums for Peace members and organizations
will have preference. People that want to participate must apply to GAIAC
directly.
Here is the summary: The workshop “Shake a Song” will use performative
arts and a non formal methodology as a tool for inclusion and self motivation.
The urban culture, with rhythms, stomp, dance, mixed with African percussion,
drama and music will create a unic environment that promotes changes and real
inclusion between the participants. In this project we will learn how the people
involved can improve the participation, how to share our experience with other
organizations and environments, and we’ll focus into the music/songs that
has been developed to create songs under a main theme, that will be presented
in a public performance.
Target group(s): All, who wish to promote their creative skills, personal development
and expression through music and collective creative activities
(including people of very different ages, professions and life situations).
Workshop
is for those who want to employ their creativity to enlarge their horizons, who
are open for new and interesting methodologies.
Professional music skills and performing experiences are not required.
All people, who are disadvantaged from a geographical and/or social point of
view, are welcome.
It will be a Drums for Peace project, but we didn’t discuss in annual meeting
how it works with participation fees because there will be only a payment before,
that will be given back when we receive the air tickets from the participants.
